| Magick1's Full Review: Weight Watchers Smart Ones Four Cheese Pizza "Bist... |
A lot of times when you think about eating better, you dont think about pizza being one of the selections that you can eat. I rationalize that it has dairy and protein tomato paste so I must get lycopene, etc, etc. But, the truth is, much to my chagrin, not a very healthy thing to eat.
But, Weight Watchers Smart Ones helped to remove that unhealthy quality and made a decent flavored pizza that is personal size, healthier than most pizzas and quick to fix for lunch at work! What else can you say about it? Quite a bit!
Let me share with you the details on this product!
The Pizza
I am talking about the Four Cheese Pizza by Weight Watchers Smart Ones food line. Everything you need is in the box. They have a shiny crisper tray wrapped in the pizza box. You just have to take it out, remove the plastic and put it in your microwave for roughly 2 minutes (possibly a little longer or shorter depending in your microwave).
The four cheeses present are mozzarella, romano, parmesan, and asiago cheese and it has a light sprinkling of Italian herbs. The pizza crust was crispy on the bottom but nice a soft on the inside. It was like a hand-tossed type of crust: not pan, not thin, right in the middle!
The Nutritional Values
These are based upon a 2,000 calorie diet and it is per serving, which in this instance is the entire little pizza in the box!

Contains eggs, milk, soybeans, wheat.
This is a quick, easy lunch to prepare. One drawback that I see is the sodium, as it is very high. Likely, that is what makes it a little more flavorful than if the sodium were lower. The appearance is nice, but dont expect the cheese to brown lightly. It will be in a melted status, but it does not brown.
The amount of Italian seasoning, to me, was reasonable. It was not completely covering the entire pizza so that you could not see the cheese or the sauce.
The size of the pizza is roughly 6 ½ inches in diameter. If you are participating in the Weight Watchers program, this rates as 8 points. (I am not, but thought someone might find that helpful.)
Overall Impressions
The pizza was easy to cut with a cheap plastic knife (like we have at work). If you do cook it too long, it does harden up the crust a little more and does make it difficult to cut through, but not impossible (as long as you dont let it get cold after it is cooked).
The flavor and the taste were very nice. Its a nice change from the other lunches with the spices and sweet flavors. Its not a tangy sauce, but it isnt exceptionally sweet either. The crust is just a crust: it is not flavored with anything other than dough.
If you are looking for an alternative to cold sandwiches, but want to keep the calories down, you should check this item, or similar items by Weight Watchers Smart Ones. They have pepperoni and other pizzas available and you will like them for a healthier alternative.
