| Magick1's Full Review: Weight Watchers Smart Ones Pepperoni Pizza Bistro ... |
I have to say that I am hooked on pizza and pasta type dishes! I always have enjoyed pizza the most, but its one of the worst things for you, from what I understand. Well, it was, until Weight Watchers® provided a few different varieties to keep those cravings in check!
Talk about easy to prepare, you just rip off the plastic, put the pizza on the carton and put it in the microwave for 2 ½ minutes! Viola, pizza is ready and it is excellent, filling and quite tasty!
The Product
The box states this is only 6 ounces. But, the pizza is roughly 6 6 ½ inches in diameter, loaded with cheese and pepperoni pieces and a very nice crust. The crust is a bit thicker, not pan style, but it is also not really thin and flimsy either. I would have to say it is about ½ inch thick.
The pizza comes in a plastic wrapped package that is inside of a cardboard box. Inside the plastic the pizza sits on one of those silver crisper trays, if you will, to help your crust be a bit crispy on the bottom. It really seems to work well, as I havent had a flimsy, wimpy crust. Its not excessively crispy though, even after cooling down to a temperature that is good for eating, but not burning your mouth, the crust is not hard
its just right!
I have not mentioned this before on my other Weight Watchers® products, but the boxes show the microwave instructions, but it also advises how to prepare this by conventional oven as well

If you are watching the points for the Weight Watchers® program, this is a 8 point meal. Its one of the highest I think I have seen in any of the meals so far!

Overall Impressions
The pizza is quick and easy to prepare, as mentioned earlier, it takes only about 2 ½ minutes in the microwave. The conventional oven takes a 350 degree oven and bake for 19 minutes (and this is after pre-heating the oven).
The pizza crust and toppings, are very filling and quite tasty. The pepperoni is tasty as well. As you can see in the nutritional information, this has a lot of sodium. Therefore, people watching their sodium probably want to share their pizza with someone else.
I have had quite a few of these over the past few months, and each one has been very tasty and the crust has been very nice too. I havent been disappointed in one of these pizzas yet (knock on wood). Its becoming one of my favorites and I think every shopping trip to restock my freezer for lunches for work, I pick up at least one of these pizzas!
I enjoy the taste, the fast preparation and feel this is a very nice change of pace from the pasta entrees that I am usually eating. Having pizza is somewhat of a treat (albeit not one of the healthier treats), and its nice to spoil your taste buds once in a while. Weight Watchers® Smart Ones® Bistro Pizza is a tasty, wonderful product. I am happy that I tried this one. The price, as with all of the other Weight Watchers® meals, is very reasonable. I normally buy these in my local market for 3 for $5.00.
If you want something quite tasty but not terribly bad for you, you might try one of these bistro pizzas. If you like pizza, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this offering from Weight Watchers®.
