The Weiner Circle is just a little hotdog/hamburger stand on Clark. It's not much on ambiance, there isn't a lot of seating, and there isn't much parking. But you don't got for the atmosphere, you go for the food, and the food is great.
The menu has what you expect - hot dogs, burgers, chicken, and even veggie burgers. Everything is flame grilled and truly outstanding. It's not fine cuisine, but there is still a big difference between a good dog and a bad one. The base dog is very good, and then they make it true Chicago style - loading it up with just about anything you want. The same goes for the burgers. The end result is a truly outstanding culinary experience.
Of course you need fries to go with your burger, and the Weiner Circle delivers there as well. The fries are great - not soggy but not too crispy either. Yes, they're just french fries, and they make them right.
The service is very good. They have some bizarre system of taking orders and keeping track of how much customers need to pay. The grillers periodically shout out asking what you want on your burger or dog, so don't wander too far. I've never been able to figure out how they do it, but it works.
If you are in Lincoln Park and want to grab a quick lunch or dinner, the Weiner Circle is the best around.
