Pros:Features hundreds of contemporary topics for everyday life.

The Bottom Line: This is the kind of reference book I needed in my collection

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Romans 1:16 KJV

God’s word is a weapon in the battle for life. It is the daily bread that if we eat of, we will no longer hunger for knowledge. The Bible is the book of God’s word that features scriptures with more meaning than you can imagine. It is a book of truth that fills the soul with overflowing love.

The bible is intended to be read daily for nourishment. It is the living water that serves as the whole armor of God. In it are accounts from the beginning of time, books of poetry that begin with Job, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Letters from Paul, Epistles and the Book of Revelations. The stories may be different but all lead to the same conclusion that Jesus is the Lord of all and worthy of the praise.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105

I was a member of the Roman Catholic faith my entire life until recently when I changed my religion to Baptist. But at the end of time when it is my day to reach the pearly gates, it is not my religion that is going to lead me to heaven, it is how the word of God dwelled in me and my faith. Nonetheless, I went to Catholic school and took religion classes for about 12 years learning about the word of God and the individuals in the book of life, yet I found myself really getting into the true reading of God’s word after I changed my religious order. Now I read and take in the word in a totally different way.

Recently, I purchased a new Bible, a King James Version by Holman bible Publishers. The publishers lead me on a different approach to reading to get the most out of God’s word and told me to put a bookmark into Genesis, one into Job and one into Matthew. I was inspired to read one chapter from each bookmarked section a day and then three on Sundays. By following this approach, I will read through the entire Bible three times by the end of the year. So I have started and things are becoming so much more plain to me. True I tarried to finally come into my decision to take a better approach towards reading, but the writing is being made plain to me in my own season and I can see it making a difference in my life.

"The book of books, the storehouse and magazine of life and comfort, the holy Scriptures."
George Herbert

With 66 chapters to navigate through, sometimes if you are just seeking that one encouraging word that is needed to fulfill that craving for understanding. Maybe it is a situation you need help in handling and you want to know where to find it. I found the perfect book to help me to find exactly what I am looking for when I want to go beyond that 1 chapter from each section and read something else. Where To Find It In The Bible: The Ultimate A To Z Resource by Ken Anderson is the perfect book.

The best thing about Where To Find It In The Bible: The Ultimate A To Z Resource is that it is made for users of many different Bibles. So whether you are reading the Contemporary English Version, the New International Version or King James Version, you can use this resource guide to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

The book is hardcover. I like this book because as opposed to dividing up into sections a bunch of scriptures based on a topic, this book leads you to the actual Bible where you can read it for yourself. This is a great book for personal study or for sharing Scripture if that is what you are accustomed to doing. It was Pope Benedict that said reading the Bible is not like reading any other book. You are supposed to read it in a different way and meditate on it. Read that passage two or three times and take it in like a lesson being taught by a teacher because that is what God’s word really is. Whatever the topic is that you are seeking, you can be guided through this book on where to find it in God’s word.

Let’s say that you were seeking knowledge about credit and turned to the section credit on page 82. This section will lead you to a number of different scriptures which include Proverbs 22:7 the resource book calls the lender rules the borrower which reads “the rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” Under credit you are also lead to Proverbs 28:8. A section described as charging high interest which reads “He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pay the poor.”

Where To Find It In The Bible: The Ultimate A To Z Resource features topics like pregnancy, genetics, shopping, voting and computers. There is a section on mortgages that leads to the scripture Nehemiah 5:3 which in the New King James Version reads “There were also some who said, “We have mortgaged our lands and vineyards and houses, that we might buy grain because of the famine.” Other sections include employment, xenophobia, writing, books, bribery, dieting and nutrition, kissing, love and everyday topics that we might seem a need to better understand. This book bridges the gap between the desire to know and the power of fulfilling that desired knowledge. And what a better time to turn to God than one that prices are continually going up for everything, people are losing their homes and jobs. Faith goes a long way. the Bible can help you get to the answer that you need to solving that problem that you need fixed.

I would almost be willing to label this book as the index to the Bible or similar to the indexes you would find in the back of a Bible. It features hundreds of contemporary topics with illustrations by John Hayes on many of the pages. The book is easy to navigate through with light-weight pages serving the entirety of the reference book. This is the kind of book I needed in my collection. It truly serves me well. And remember like Jack Hayford said and I quote, “The Bible necessary to spiritual life as breath is to natural life. There is nothing more essential to our lives than the Word of God."
