| DenimDude's Full Review: Whirlpool GHW9200L Front Load Washer |
I would recommend this to anyone who is serious about saving water and detergent. Also to anyone serious about getting their clothes cleaner and sweeter smelling than ever before possible. Our clothes never smelled so good. This was not possible with our water-guzzling, top-loader. Even when we used prescribed detergent amounts, our clothes still smelled, unclean. With this washer, boy what a difference!!! We now use Downy Enhancer, only 1/4 of a capful, in the final rinse and our clothes are awesome. With our top-loader we wouldn't have been able to afford this additive. It, (the old top-loader washer), consumed so much in soap, color safe bleach, etc.,-- it was like throwing money in a river!!!
It's fun to watch your laundry wash. You'll be amazed at how little water this washer uses.
The controls are the easiest to use. You will not find any other washer, this easy, to operate.
The stainless steel tub is beautiful and very heavy duty.
The spins are smooth and strong. Spinning at 1100rpm, your laundry feels almost dry coming out of the washer!! With some items, they are dry!!!
The washer will also wash silk and is a total "Laundry Care System". You can even wash what used to be "dry clean only" items in it. Wool has it's own special cycle, as well. I will be "wet cleaning" my suits in it. Wow!!!
The washer has finally come out of it's cocoon and we'll be seeing much more high-tech, front-loaders in the future, I'm sure!!
BTW, this washer monitors everything! If it senses a malfunction, like an overflow condition, it will sound an alarm, shut of the inlet valves, lock the door, and keep the pump turned on until someone can intervene. It also monitors the motor speed, detergent dispenser position, door lock, water usage, etc. It will even go into a "suds" routine and makes sure your clothes are rinsed properly. It will say "suds" on the display so you'll use less detergent, next time. In short, it monitors itself like your cars "check engine" light does, except it displays the error code so you or the technician knows exactly what needs fixing!!
The Accuwash feature makes sure all wash temps, even cold, are correct. Yes, it will warm up a "cold" water setting a bit to ensure your powdered detergent will dissolve. The atmosphere in the washer tub will be warm, but the water cool!!. Neat! It warms the cold water to 77 degrees F. The sanitary cycle will heat the water to 150 degrees F, keeping your whites and bedding nice and sanitary.
We have done over 1000 loads of laundry in it and it's still performing like brand new!!! It is now 17 months old as of October 13th, 2003!!!
