I take great pride in washing my families clothing! I kept thinking what am I doing wrong. I use Tide HE and Downey and pre treat some with spray n wash. I have a family of 3 boys and my husband. Between football and farming we get clothes pretty dirty and smelly. This washer does not get the clothes clean! It didnt from the first load I did. The football clothes still smelled and clothes did seem as clean as what I was use to. I had the salesman come to the house and check that I was doing things properly. The washer is not over loaded, As Whirlpool did tell me. Whirlpool advertises that you can wash 16 pair of jeans. No way! They will not be clean and they come out in a tangled mess. The dryer will wrinkle the jeans. I have never had a washer and dryer that would wrinkle the jeans! They look awful when the come out. I only wash 6 to 7 pair and it is tollarable. But still wrinkled. The underarm deodrant does not come out of the clothes either. Nor does my sons after shave. The dirt and grease doesn't come out like it used to with my top loading machine. I do presoak on the presoak cycle but it does not help. It is like I never washed the clothes. Most of the "good" clothes are washed in cold and they still smell the same as when I put them in the washer.
My towels are dingy. Whirlpool says the washer can wash 8 king size sheets. The dryer wads up the sheets and I have to stop the dryer and straighten them out to get them dry a couple of times. I cant imagine washing more than 2 sets of full size sheets. The machine has hand wash, delicate, normal, heavy duty, and whites cycles. It has a presoak, Rinse and spin, and a spin only cycle. When spinning on the heavy duty or whites the machine vibrates badly. Other wise I feel it is quiet.The difference in the cycles seem to only be the length of time the clothes wash and the spin cycle speed. I can adjust the water temp and the speed of the spin cycle. I often wonder if I just leave the machine on the normal cycle and adjust water temp and spin speed I wouldnt need the other choices. I truly see no difference in the way the machine washes between cycles. Just the way it spins. I dont feel the dryer works properly either. It takes a long time to dry. I have cleaned the vent and the dryer pipe going out of the house. It still does not help. The washer always has a mildew smell. I do not close the door unless I am washing a load.I have really tried to give this machine the benefit of the doubt. But I have come to decide that it is not worth buying at all. I wish I had never bought this set.Trust me it doesn't get the clothes clean.
