I live in a house with three women (wife and two duaghters). Unless you live in a similar situation, you cannot begin to fathom the mound of laundry that our household endures. I purchased the Cabrio dryer from whirlpool because of its 7ft capacity and quick drying time and I must admit that I am highly impressed with my investment. First, let me tell you that setup is a snap. you unplug the cold water hose to your washing machine. Then you hook up the hose (BTW this is a steam dryer for those who do not know) to a supplied Y adaptor. Then connect one hose (as easy as attaching a garden hose) to the washing machine and one hose to the dryer. Next, you attach the plug (not supplied, no dryer supplies its own plug) by connecting three colored wires and finally attach the vent pipe (just clamp on) and you are ready to go! Sound confusing? Its not but most places of sale offer setup for a small fee if you cannot do this) On to the review!!! I washed a load that was three times the size of my old dryer and it only took 45 minutes!!! This alone is far worth the investment. Inside the dryer is a sensor that measures how wet the clothes inside are and the dryer works until the clothes are dry. At the end of the cycle there is a cool down period so that you do not burn yourself on the freshly dried clothes. This can easily handle a kind size comforter or twenty five towels, a hefty load indeed! As I mentioned before, this is a steam dryer. What this means is that there is a mode called refresh. In this mode you can place a couple of garmets or outfits into the dryer straight out of your closet and the dryer will heat up and spritz a little water on the clothes and then continue to dry them. This creates a slight mist of steam that helps refreshen clothes and get wrinkles out. There is also a bulk mode that handles more than five garmets in steam mode. Since I am a preacher this mode is perfect for my dress and business attire. Like minded professionals will apperciate this steam mode to get wrinkles out of outfits for that quality professional look. As I have said before. This dryer took no more space than my older smaller dryer (6.2 capacity) but fits and can easily handle huge bulky loads of laundry. With higher load (and the fact that it is energy star efficient anyways) you will find yourself with a slightly smaller electric bill and less time in the laundry room. The dial is a simple set and forget system. You determine if you have a small, medium or bulky load and push start. The dryer does all the rest. Also, for those who want to customize you can choose the heat level, and amount of time or just let the system choose for you. You also have wrinkle guard, this causes the dryer to tumble and heat every so often for up to 2 hours, keeping clothes fresh and wrinkle free for those who cannot drop everything to take the clothes out of the dryer. But this dryer and you will be happy with the results!
