Pros: Has wheels. Cheaper than others. Auto shut-off. Hose connector.
Cons: Louder than TV !!! Small wheels. Cannot unuse the hose once it is connected.
So my A/C in my apartment is not up to par with my standard of living. A 55% Relative Humidity level is the best the apartment complex can achieve..........
I went and bought this Whirlpool AD25BSR Dehumidifier at Lowe's and immediately came home and plugged it in. It is sitting on a piece of wood on top of my carpeting to make sure that it is supported well as stated in the brochure.
I plan to return this thing as soon as I order a different brand over the Internet.
Why you say? IT IS LOUD! I don't know what the deal is but it is louder than my T.V. when I have it on and since it is in my living room and I can hear it in my bedroom as I write this 2 rooms away, this is not acceptable.
Unless you can put this in a basement or somewhere that it will not be heard, an awful sound will emanate throughout your place like an air supply unit at the gas station!
The bucket is just a pullout with indented handle grips on the sides and the menu features only allow you to select moist, dry or dryer using a turn knob. The "bucket" is not that difficult to pull out I just don't know how it will be when you go to pull it out and it is full. It does have an automatic shutoff and hose connector. The hose does not come with it. If you do decide to use a hose, you will always have to use one unless you can find a cap with the right thread type to close it up. That's right! To attach the hose, you have to break off a seal that is similar to the kind you find on the top of a milk jug. It is just a piece of glued on foil.
This product does have wheels on it which were not displayed on the box. The wheel are smaller than ones found on a plastic chest with drawers found at Office Depot. I was thinking of making a platform with bigger wheels if it did not turn out to be this loud.
It specifies that the item must be placed somewhere with at least a foot of open space around it which is hard considering I am in a one bedroom apartment but necessity requires this dehumidifier.
I would only buy this if you could place it in a basement and close the door.
All this for $139.
