Pros:New John Lennon Designs, Cheaper Than Other Brands, Good Leak Protection

Cons:Run Small

The Bottom Line: Definitely keeps my daughter's bottom dry at a pretty reasonable price.

This review was previously published under a generic category in Kids & Family. I'm happy to finally be able to put it in its appropriate place! I have done some updating to this review as well since White Cloud Disposable Diapers have had a makeover!

Let's face it, as parents, we will try anything to prevent leaks and save money, short of using duct tape! I have tried numerous brands of diapers, some with disastrous results, and some with results I could live with. One of my attempts at finding an affordable and leak free diaper led me to try White Cloud Diapers. Name sound familiar? At one time White Cloud was all about tissue paper, and now, they've tackled diapering and cleaning baby bottoms!

~*~Cost~*~

For a package of Size 5 diapers (84 count) I paid $16.67 and for a smaller package of 42 I paid $8.67 at my local Wal-Mart. The smaller the diaper size, the more you get per package for the same amount of money. As far as I know White Cloud Diapers can only be found at Wal-Mart and Super Wal-Mart stores.

~*~Product Description~*~

Designs: I'm not sure if every one is like this, but when I not only like diapers to be leak proof, but pretty cute as well. White Cloud Diapers used to have lavender Baby Looney Tune characters all over them, and the Velcro tabs had the characters colored in. White Cloud has now had a makeover! Instead of Looney Tunes, White Cloud diapers have adorable John Lennon Designs. These designs are extremely popular and can be found on baby clothing, crib sets and more! The designs consist of giraffes, elephants and other jungle creatures in light pastel colors.

Cover & Closures: White Cloud Diapers have a cloth like cover, which is much softer now than it used to be. The cloth cover isn't nearly as soft as the more popular name brand diapers, but, it's definitely soft enough! There isn't any plastic around the waist band either, which is a plus. White Cloud Diapers have a plastic panel and sticky closures. The closures are easy to fasten and fairly easy to refasten if needed. There have been a few instances where once unfastened, it wouldn't fasten again.

Leak Protection: White Cloud Diapers has leak guards in the legs to help prevent leaks and blow outs. The absorbent core helps to pull the moisture away from baby's bottom, keeping her dry. Unlike some name brand diapers, I didn't have to wipe away that nasty gel substance from her bottom each time I changed my daughter!

Sizes: Right now I don't know the exact weights that fit each size of White Cloud Diapers. I do know that White Cloud offers diapers from sizes newborn to size 6. My daughter is in a five, and she's 33 pounds. One thing to keep in mind when purchasing these diapers, is that they do run smaller than some of the name brands. The waist seems to be a bit more narrow, so chunkier babies might have a hard time fitting into the size they normally fit into with other brands.

~*~Our Experience~*~

Lately I don't buy White Cloud Diapers often because I have had some awesome coupons on Pampers. However, when money gets tight, I usually turn to this brand or another generic brand for my oldest daughter. Since we switch between training pants and diapers, a package of diapers can last us for a while. Of course lately, it's been more diapers than training pants, *sigh*.

I love the new John Lennon designs but hate that they changed their Velcro closures to sticky closures. There have been several times that my daughter, after getting a clean diaper put on, would decide she'd like to potty on "her" potty. When I would try to refasten the White Cloud Diaper it wouldn't fasten, making it a total waste.

White Cloud Diapers have really good leak protection, very comparable to Pampers and other name brand diapers. Even at night, when my daughter wets the most, these diapers held up really well. The inside of the diaper is soft, so there isn't any skin irritation. Even the waist band and sides are soft, which I love. My daughter has never had any skin irritations or rashes with these diapers.

I'm not sure if anyone ever noticed, but when White Cloud Diapers were using the different cloth cover and designs, the diapers had a strange odor when wet with urine. This put me off for quite a while and I didn't pick up another package until they came out with the John Lennon designs and new cloth cover. Thankfully, the smell isn't there at all!

While these diapers do run a tad bit smaller, the size 5 fit my daughter just fine. With other diapers we can squeeze her into a 4, but with White Cloud Diapers there's no chance! So, when purchasing these diapers, it might be best to go up one size to be on the safe side.

~*~Overall Opinion~*~

I would recommend White Cloud Diapers, as they do help prevent the leaks, and definitely keep my daughter's bottom dry at a pretty reasonable price.
