Pros:variety of stitches available and features
Cons:poor design for left handers, poor design for threading
The Bottom Line: I recommend this machine for beginners who want time to learn and grow in their sewing experiences.
I have had this machine for a little over a year now and I must say, that I have a lot of sewing experience and am not satisfied with this product. The "automatic" threader is virtually useless because it takes a much time to place it strategically near the needle to thread the thing. Also, the button hole attachment is so darn complicated I don't bother. I make a lot of my own costumes for dance and find that it handles thicknesses ok. I find though, that the foot leverage arm is in the wrong place - on the inside of the shank - not the back like most sewing machines which makes it virtually a right handed machine. I am now experiencing an intermittent mechanical problem which I can't quite put my finger on. Sometimes it seems to do an extra stitch or two after you release the peddle and with some strange sound and hesitation. I've oiled it but it hasn't helped and even used a different White foot peddle from my serger so it isn't that. I am also not impressed with the reverse feature which only has one speed - SLOW. I don't feel this machine is worthy of being in a class for experienced seemstresses but perhaps a good beginner for someone who is less "hard" on it.
