Yes, but who DID move the cheese? (Reply to this comment)
by hmmmmmmm
The book diverts us from the original question by telling us, Never mind who moved the cheese, just go find it! The story needs a new character who says, "Look, the cheese didn't move itself; Change doesn't just happen, it results from decisions made by those who have the power to make changes. Who are these people, why do they want the cheese in a new location, what does it cost us cheese-eaters to find and get to the new location, and shouldn't we have some say in whether and where the cheese is moved? Why are we confined to this maze, anyway? Why shouldn't we be involved in designing the maze?" These questions would be out of place if we were talking about the plan of the universe, but the cheese is really a symbol for the conditions of our lives that are set by the all-too-human owners and managers of corporations and governments.

I learned a lesson here tonight. I am in Las Vegas, Nevada (California Hotel & Casino) on a business trip.
I have to go out and buy this book for my personal library.
Geez, college professors sure know how to make 'students' think critically! :)

From one who's been resistant to it (as I like the familiar), it definitely keeps us moving onward and upward hopefully to new explorations. Great little book!!

Excellent Review (Reply to this comment)

The amusing little book sure does tell a story about how people do hem and haw when their familiar routine is about to change. My father used to collect little books like this where each character within represented a way of life.
