| jamesmcook's Full Review: Whoozit |
My brother gave our baby Noah a Whoozit when he was born, and it was one of the first toys he really enjoyed. Why? Three reasons:
The Face
Yep, the Face mattered a lot to him. Sure, there was a black and white back on it that researchers might go gaga for, but he loved the eyes, the smile, and that adorable nose. Speaking of which...
Lots to Grab Onto
If you've been a parent for any length of time, you know about the Dropsies. When Noah is in top form, he can lose a toy over the edge of his seat in less than five seconds -- repeatedly. This can get really old really fast.
The Whoozit, however, stays in Noah's pudgy little hands. How come? Just about EVERYTHING in or on the toy is made to grab. Whenever his hand lets go of one part, another part makes itself available to him. Noah loves this, because he can really let loose with the toy (whack! whack!) and not get frustrated because it falls or flies away.
Safe, Soft and Durable
Regardless of the laundry instructions that came with our Whoozit, we've found that he survives a machine washer pretty well. None of his parts have come off or even gotten loosened by Noah's persistent tugs. And after months of use, it's still comfortingly soft.
Wrap-Up
In Short, I can't say enough good things about the Whoozit (did I mention it's inexpensive?). It may look kinda weird, but it's easy to love.
My brother's expecting a baby of his own next January. Guess what his Christmas present is going to be?
Postscript
It has recently come to my attention that there are several different size Whoozits out there. The largest-sized Whoozit I've seen is about a foot across -- clearly too big for an infant. This review is based on my experience with a Whoozit about 5 inches across -- a size that is just perfect for young ones.
