I have loved the John Madden NFL games each and every issue and have either played or bought each one...They improved each and every year...I bought NFL Blitz a year ago and have not touched any Madden game since...The difference is so extreme, it is truly like comparing pong(atari mid-70's) to the games of today...Blitz does only offer a smaller squad, but to be fair, in the Madden games some of the linemen do get in the way of the action...The play selection on offense and defense is strong as are the graphics...Especially the graphics and the action...No penalties like the other games, so if you like action, this game is for you...The Madden game is more like real football, whereas the NFL Blitz is like a combination of NFL, NHL, PKA Karate/Kick boxing, X Games, and Ultimate Fighting,Arena Football, but mostly football....You can take out a lot of frustration on your friend or the computer with cheap shots on each play and usually can get 2 shots in...You owe it to yourself to at least rent it or buy it and try it...Cannot wait until I get the NFL Blitz 2000...
