| colbyruiz's Full Review: Wilson A2000 Series |
I have played baseball for a while now, and have had a few gloves. My first glove was a $20 Wilson from Walmart. I played on two state chamionship highschool teams, and have seen quite a few pro-line gloves. None of the gloves I have seen, besides the Nokona Bloodline and Rawlings Pro-Preferred, have even compared to my A2K ASO. It is one of the most comfortable gloves I have ever put on my hand. Breaks in easy to be so sturdy, too. The dual-welting thing they advertise is no joke- it's one of the neatest features I've ever seen on a baseball glove. the pocket is amazingly well-formed with minimal work and appears to hold up well. I also own an A2000 M1BG catcher's mitt. It is by far the nicest i have ever used. I was a little concerned about the "super skin" for a while, since it is synthetic, but it seems to hold up as well as the leather, and since it's only on the back of the glove, it won't have too much to endure in comparison. The leather Wilson uses is very impressive, particularly on the A2K series. I will say, however, that the $100 extra for the A2K is not worth it. If you can find one on clearance (like I did), then great! Otherwise, you're better off just paying for the A2000. Like I said, there are gloves made by Rawlings and Nokana that are also fantastic, so I won't say Wilson is the only way to go. Find a good glove shop and try a few on. You will be amazed by the dual welting if you have never seen it before. By the way, never put your glove in the oven or under your matress! Both of these will damage it! Thanks for reading my review. Oh, and don't bother with the A3000.
