The Jungle Pals series from Wilton is a great series for younger kids but they are cute enough that you can also use them for baby showers. There are two sizes of baking cups in the Jungle Pals series; this is the larger one but you can also get the tart or mini sized cups. The smaller ones have a solid color to them but carry the same cartoonish drawings of animals. This is the larger of the two and is perfect for cupcakes or muffins but they are also nice to use if you are looking to portion control sweets and treats. You can use these inside a cupcake or muffin pan and have treats inside them. These will fit inside almost all standard sized pans; you may need to press them down a little when you are filling them so they don't slide around but other than that these are extremely easy to use. They are paper liners so there is always a chance that they are going to show some grease marks but that is a problem with most paper liners.

I like the soft colors that are used for these cups; you can use them with a lot of different themes so you aren't locked in to just buying Wilton products as companion pieces. Wilton does make a lot of companion products; if you are in to one stop shopping you can get almost all of them online at the Wilton Online Store. These are lighter colored cups so using chocolate cake mix in them is going to make them appear a littler darker than they are but no so much so that you can't see the animals that are on the side of the cup. They are fluted so they are relatively easy to peel off of your baked treats. If you are going to over fill them so they have huge tops to them then you are going to want to make sure that you are using a non stick pan or that you use a cake release around the edges so that they do not stick. Always remove the stuck areas with a plastic knife or spatula so you don't risk scratching the pan.

These are a little on the juvenile side but not so much so that you won't be able to use them for five or six year olds; to me they are a unisex kind of design so they are suitable for girls or boys. As mentioned, they can also be used for a baby shower if you are going with an animal theme. They separate easily so you don't have to fight with them to get them apart; you are getting 75 of them in a pack so you should have enough for a couple uses from a pack. You can also make smaller ones using the tart sized liners. They do have a different design but have the same animal characters only they are smaller. You can get these for about two dollars a pack but there are specialty stores that are going to try to sell them for more. The website usually has them in stock but larger Wal-Mart and Target stores have some of the Jungle Pals products in their cake decorating section.

You can decorate the cupcake or muffins with almost any color icing; I would stick with something a little on the lighter pastel side because of the light color of the liner. There are some cute edible embellishments that you can get if you want to stick with things that kids can eat so there isn't a chance of them ingesting something that could hurt them. For the price they are a nice pick and the fact that you are getting 75 of them in a pack makes it nice so you can have enough for even large scale parties or sending cupcakes to school for a class. Any left over liners can be stored and used later or kept as spares in case you run out of others. The entire Jungle Pals series is worth checking out and if you don't want to spend a lot of time going from store to store to get items for a party you can get a lot of the items at the online store and stay in the same theme.
