Having 2 children and 4 Grandchildren, I have done my share of baking cakes and cupcakes for Birthday parties, school functions or a family get together. When I am entertaining at home or hosting a party for someone special you want to set an attractive table to fit the occasion. There have been times where I have chosen Cupcakes over Cake on the dessert table.
Hosting a Bridal Shower for my niece, my sister and I debated on whether to order Cupcakes instead of a traditional cake.
The question was if we go with cupcakes how will we place them on the table to give it an elegant look.
Well I found the perfect solution to this when I was shopping at Bealls in Ft Myers, Florida. Once I had purchased the Wilton Cupcake 'N More Dessert Stand, brought it home and put it together both myself and my sister both agreed this was perfect for creating a centerpiece on the Dessert table.
I had found the Wilton Cupcake 'N More Dessert Stand # 307 826 on sale. The retail price was around $30.00, but Bealls was having one of their 70% off with an additional 40% off. The final cost was under $6.00 ! Don't you just Love these type of sales. I know I do I get so excited when I find such a Bargain.
It was our lucky day, the sale included each of the sizes of the Dessert Stands they had available on the shelf, so I had picked up a total of 3 Dessert Stands for less than $15.00.
I had purchased 2 of the Wilton Cupcakes' N More Dessert Stand # 307-831 which holds 13 cupcakes and 1 Wilton Cupcakes 'N More Dessert Stand #307-826 that holds a total of 23 cupcakes.
I was also tempted to purchase the largest one that holds a total of 38 Cupcakes, but at the time we had so many other things to pick up for the Bridal Shower that we did not need it. I will say now, for the price I am sorry I didn't purchase that one too, especially after we used the Dessert Stands to serve the cupcakes.
Assembly was extremely easy.
When you first take the tiers out of the box you have to assemble it yourself. I washed it in hot soapy water then it only takes a few seconds to insert the rods into the center of the tiers and its ready to use.
Wilton Cupcakes' N More Dessert Stand # 307-831 is designed to hold 13 cupcakes. The bottom Tier holds 8, the second tier holds 4 and the top Tier holds 1.
Both of these stands are designed in a twisted tower shape with Spiral cupcake holders on each of the tiers. The 23 cupcake Dessert Stand has 4 Tiers. The bottom tier holds 10 cupcakes, then the next tier holds 8, then 4 and the top tier has 1.
There are metal legs that holds the stand securely on your table. We had no problem with the stands looking uneven nor did we have any problems when a cupcake was removed that it tilted or fell over onto the table. The cupcake holders are very sturdy, they are angled down which made placing and removing each cupcake very easy.
I like that it stated the silver finished metal is non toxic and has a durable non chip finish.
On the day of her Bridal Shower everyone complimented on the food and the table setting. Especially the Cupcakes. We had used all 3 with the larger one in the center of the table and the 2 smaller ones on each end of the dessert table.
A few of our guests were quite interested in where we had found the Dessert Stands, what a unique piece I heard one say. It displayed the cupcakes we had ordered from the local Publix bakery, perfectly on each of the holders.
My sister is very creative and with her final touches the entire table was absolutely stunning from the main course to the desserts.
According to the package it not only for cupcakes, you can use it to hold fresh fruits and make a centerpiece with any type of round fruit, with grapes draping over, or it can be used for muffins, candies, cookies anything that will fit into a cupcake size holder all you need is an imagination when planning your event and preparing your table.
The silver finish looks elegant by itself and can be washed very easily with a damp sponge.
To store them away I simply disassembled them and put them back in the box. I personally like to save the original boxes for special occassion items.
We have Brooklynn's first Birthday right around the corner then end of July. Once again I will pull these stands out of the boxes to set her Birthday table to fit the theme. Whether I use the 13 cupcake or the 23 cupcake Dessert stand I know it will stand sturdy and look great for any occasion. Even with all the little fingers reaching for the first chocolate cupcake with the pink frosting on the second tier, I feel confident this stand will still be standing until the last cupcake s gone.
I am giving this a 5 star rating for the elegance it brings to the table and for the price I paid, it has already paid for itself.
