Pros: Fantastic location close to attractions in NYC - Times Square, Empire State Building
Cons: Slow elevator
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to people who want to visit NYC but don't want to spend an "arm and a leg" on places to stay.

| Adanna's Full Review: Wolcott Hotel |
My husband and I stayed at Wolcott hotel in June 2005 for three nights. We booked it because it was a budget hotel, but after reading some reviews about it here and on another site, I was a bit leery. We didn't have any problems with staff, water pressure, or things like that which have been mentioned in other reviews. Perhaps we had one of those rare almost perfect stays or something!
The only thing I have to agree with is the complaints about the slow elevator. SLOW doesn't even begin to describe it!
Our hotel room was decent sized, no bugs, clean, and had a great view of the Empire State Building out of our window. That was great! In the summer, they don't like that you run the AC while you are not in the room (the maids will turn it off when they clean your room if you have left it on) - something about it possibly freezing up. They have big heavy drapes that we closed when we left for the day and the room didn't get too hot even though it was sizzling outside. The AC worked well and cooled the room down with no problem.
The bathrooms are small, but I didn't go to NYC to spend most of my time in the bathroom. We had good water pressure and didn't have any problem with it going form hot to cold back to hot like some people have stated.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and had no problems. The hotel is one to fit a person's low budget but yet offer comfort.
