Pros: Flushable, septic safe. Natural.
Cons: EXPENSIVE!!!! Don't clump hard enough. tracks. hard to find. EXPENSIVE!!
I been using the "World's Best Cat Litter" for over a week now. At first I mixed it with my premium clumping litter to acclimate my 14 year old tomcat (Chiminou). He took to it quickly. He'S the world's best cat after all! :o)
He's tried 4 different types of litter (regular litter, crystals, clumping litter and WBCL) within 2 months, plus a new automatic littermaid! Talk about a cool cat uh?
I have a self-cleaning littermaid litterbox. After reading a few reviews here about the WBCL, I thought it would be a good idea to give it a try. The reviews mentionned great results with the littermaid. Since my premium clumping litter sometimes clogged the rake which resulted in a jam.. I thought I'd find the ultimate solution!
This new litter is made out of corncobs; ground up corn. Smells fine and natural. No dust. It's light. Safe for your pets, they can eat it without problems (but- some reviewers noted it made their cats vomit - so beware). It clumps. It's flushable, septic safe. And has good odor control.
First, it doesn't clump hard enough. (not as well as my premium litter) The clumps break out when the rake pushes the stuff in the waste bin. And those smaller clumps are impossible to scoop out after... leaving the litter dirty. And it pushes a lot of clean litter in at the same time.. (which did not happen with the regular clumping litter) So you lose a lot of litter and you know how expensive this litter is? I paid 24$ (shipping and handling) for a small 7 lbs bag which is supposed to last a MONTH! Well guess what, the bag is already empty.. I have some left in my litermaid to last me another three days maximum! So it lasted a week and a half! A 7 lbs bag is supposed to last a month, so they say on their website and on the bag.
This morning, the rake was clogged completely.. is this worth it? ...
The odor control was fine though, as good as my premium litter.
But the tracking is horrible! It tracks as much as the other litters but since the grains are twice as big... it's way more visible. You can feel each grain under your feet as you step on them. And the grains are yellow, so again... a lot more visible than regular clumping... One good thing was that it did not stick and clump under my cat's paws..
It turned mushy as well.. since it did not clump hard fast enough, it left some mushy stuff on the side of the pan a few times already, and some on the rake.
This is definately the world's most expensive litter.
This litter is WAY too expensive for me anyway.
So I'll be back to my premium litter very soon.
