I went to an Apple store and that is where I picked up this XtremeMac (IPD-CLA-10) (Black) Car / Plane Charger. I have an iPod 60GB. This fits it and others. More later.

My iPod can be charged via my computer or with a regular AC Adapter. That's what I always used. I would charge up the iPod and be good for the day's use on the road whether driving or just listening at other times. I did find there were times on the road that it wasn't convenient to charge it up with the AC charger adapter. I looked for and purchased the Car Charger for iPod at $20. The one I have is black. I also have the black iPod. The white is also available.

Some Basic Information

This charger fits in my standard lighter outlet. It also can fit secondary auxiliary car power outlets. It has built-in circuitry that can protect my iPod against any high electrical loads. It has fast-blow fuse protection. That makes me feel good because I don't want my little baby getting hurt. I've grown quite attached to it.

The charger comes with a Lifetime Guarantee so I should be around if there is a problem. I do always wonder whose lifetime is guaranteed.

Some Thoughts

I keep this charger in a compartment that is between the seats of my car. The charger is small and always handy. I like the coiled cord that has plenty of spring to it. I don't believe it will lose its elasticity for a while. It also gives a couple of feet stretch room so I can keep my iPod in easy reach if I needed to adjust it while driving while listening to music. I like that I have unlimited listening time when this is attached and it also can be used as a charger. Very convenient for a guy who is often on the road.
