I’m a big fan of the X-men. I have the comics, cartoons, toys, and will be buying that movie on DVD when it hits the stores! (Boo yeah!) Now a lot of the action figures they have made for the X-men series have be lame and very easily broken. (I had to bury several in the back yard! Wolverine, Cable, Cyclops will be missed!)
But these action figures they have made for the movie release are great! They hold up to the best of poundings! I handed Sabertooth and the cop accessory over to my 4 year old and she couldn't break either one!
First off with Sabertooth, nice movement, I really like the joint in his ankle, which makes it very easy to pose him. The detail on his face and hands are realistic and cool paint job on the costume.
Let’s talk accessories!
Sabertooth comes with another figure! It’s a policeman and when you use Sabertooth’s slashing action and hit the cop in the chest, the cop will completely crumble to the ground! Then you just crank him up and let Sabertooth do away with him again! (Come on let’s say it together, BOO YEAH!)
From a collector’s standpoint this could pay off big in the future if you keep this stuff in the box. With a cool accessory, great looking and fully moving action figure, not to mention a very successful movie release. This could pocket you some cash at the toy shows a few years down the way.
As far as play-factor, it’s fun having Sabertooth knock the cops block off over and over again. My daughter whose 4 now, really likes to press the button on the cops cheat and watch in fall apart, crank him back up again and press that button. The other day she had the cop drinking tea with Barbie and Jar-Jar Binks. As the story goes from my daughter’s mouth. The cop was not being nice the Jar-Jar so Barbie had to give him time out by pressing the button on his chest. This was very effective and the cop said sorry to Jar-Jar. Jar-Jar however didn't accept the apology and hit the button again! Jar-Jar now sits on a shelf serving his time out.
Out of all the figures they released for the X-men movie, I would have to say that Sabertooth is my top pick. If you’re collecting action figures then you better buy two! One to store away for later and one to play with for hours on end!
(One more time just for fun, BOO YEAH!)
