| areavley's Full Review: Yamaha RX-V2300 6.1 Channels Receiver |
I have had this receiver for approximately one week now. It was an upgrade from my Yamaha rx-v690 receiver. This is my third Yamaha receiver with very little complaints about any. Yamaha has always offered unparalled sound and over all quality. The rx-v2300 is crisp and clear in every sound field. I shopped for many months and listened to just about every digital receiver in this price range. It beats out any THX certified receiver in this range. Remember that THX does not mean better quality. You have to pay to have a THX certified label on your equipment if you want it. Yamaha feels that their receiver's produce better sound than THX receivers and that it's not worth paying for the advertising of THX. This receiver will not disappoint any mid-level audio enthusiast. I run definitive bi-polar speakers through this system with a valodyne ground firing subwoofer. I will be adding a rear center channel speaker with this system as the receiver supports 6.1 surround sound.
