Pros: Light, low profile rugged, reliable, easy breathing
Cons: Free flows easily. Standard mouthpieces should be replaced.
I need to apologize for any regulator that I gave positive feedback about in the past. Compared to the Zeagle Flathead VI they breathe like trying to suck air through a garden hose from 200 fsw. I've been using Zeagle Flathead VI's for nearly 2 years now while technical diving and their performance has always been top notch. Whether deep wreck diving in the ocean, doing caves or simply doing S-drills and valve drills, these regulators give you ease of breathing no matter how hard you work them. I use two regulators on my double tanks. I run the primary Zeagle Flathead VI from my right manifold post on a 7 foot long hose and have a backup Flathead VI on my left post on a short hose. The regulator's first stage is constructed of brass with a stainless steel conical high pressure valve and advanced polymer seat. It is environmentally sealed and factory ready to use for nitrox mixtures up to 40% oxygen. Buna-N o-rings are employed in the construction. The second stage is balanced downstream with a pre-dive to dive venturi assist lever and the breathing sensitivity is diver adjustable. The regulator is also light and low profile with little first stage to rise above the height of the tank valve; a definite plus in overhead environments. Rugged, reliable and easy breathing -- what more can you ask from a regulator?
