User Rating: Excellent
Pros:ATTRACTIVE GAME, NEAT SETUP, DURABLE, A LOT OF FUN, EDUCATIONAL
Cons:IT'S THE ONLY GAME THE KIDS WANT TO PLAY
The Bottom Line: FUN GAME WITH EDUCATIONAL ELEMENTS
I purchased this game with my daughter in mind. She's four and her speech is still difficult to understand. Her two year old brother is getting to the point where I'll ask him to translate what his older sister just said. Zingo requires that you call out the name of the picture before you can pick it up. This has really helped my daughter with her words. Also, it has helped her with word recognition. It is quite impressive how quickly the kids caught on. I wasn't sure my two year old would be able to play without help, but it is no problem for him at all. The game cards are two sided. The green side is easier than the red side, but we lasted only a few days on the green side. Now, they want the more challenging red side because there's more competition that way. The Zingo cards are thick and durable. The Zingo chips are durable as well and have a fun sliding dispenser. They truly enjoy this game and I have to say that I have a lot of fun as well. We always play blackout and whenever somebody gets a Zingo, they stand up and do their own special, "I got a Zingo" dance. At the moment, it's the most requested family game in our house, and we have had it for almost a year now. We've also played this game with some of their older friends, ages 6 and 8. The friends enjoyed it just as much as the younger kids.
