KAR120C's Full Review: Zodiac Spot On Flea Control for Cats & Kittens 1 c...
We have two sweet indoor cats who recently acquired a case of fleas. We had used the topical flea treatment "Frontline" in the past with good results. Although Frontline causes some apparent skin irritation and itching, it effectively killed the fleas on our cats in 1 day or two.
Enter Zodiac Spot On. We tried this topical treatment as it was much cheaper than Frontline or Advantage. This was a huge mistake. Or kitties were in obvious distress for the first day after we applied Zodiac. They scratched constantly and hid from us (no surprise, as we had inflicted this upon them). After the second day, we noticed that there were actually MORE fleas on our cats. The fleas were not even dazed or lethargic! We decided to wash the advatage off our kitties on the 3rd day. We then used a flea comb daily. We removed 40 to 50 fleas over several days. Needless to say, Zodiac was worse than useless as it not only didn't kill the fleas, but inflicted serious discomfort to our kitties.
We are now using the flea comb daily. We must wait at least a month before using Frontline. Our Experience with Zodiac Spot On was as you can tell very disturbing. Bottom line; don't use Zodiac. Why it retailers allow it to be distributed is anyones guess. It doesn't kill fleas, irritates cats and wastes time. Pony up the additional cash and your cats will be happy and flea free.
