den_inte_dod's Full Review: Zoo York Downtown Skateboard Bearings
There's something I don't like about buying skateboard bearings, and I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe it's just that I'm too darn picky - or maybe it's that I don't want to take the risk of the bearings not working out for me too well.
One time, I randomly decided to pick up a fresh pair of Zoo York bearings, because the ones I had been riding were getting a little old and rusty. I had heard of the brand before, but I wasn't very familiar with the quality of their products. I thought, "What the heck, I might as well try out a set of Zoo York skateboard bearings!" And at that moment, I developed a new fascination - Zoo York skateboard bearings!
These bearings were on clearance at my local skateboard shop for $9.99, which isn't that nappy of a price for your average set of skateboard bearings. The sad thing is that many people fail to realize the true greatness of Zoo York brand name products. It didn't take long at all for me to realize it! Once I plugged these bad boys in, I knew that these bearings would not only improve my skills in the extreme sport of skateboarding, but they would greatly improve my speed as well.
Speed is a very important factor in the sport of skateboarding. How many times do you see the little cartoons of children skateboarding without there being little speed marks behind the back set of wheels? Yeah, NONE! When it comes to speed, Zoo York has got the game won. Sure, my opinion frequently changes - well, it used to. Now, I think that I have met my match. These bearings provide the necessary amount of speed for me to catch the right amount of air when ollieing off of a big stair set, or launching high off of a ramp.
The only reason you shouldn't buy a set of these Zoo York "Downtown" skateboard bearings is that you don't skateboard. If you do, which since you're reading this, you most likely do, then go out and buy your own pair of Zoo York bearings!
