jkchyo's Full Review: Zooka Sports ZS740 Portable Pitching Machine
An earlier reviewer mentioned that the Zooka wasn't cheap. But for anyone who has priced better pitching machines, the Zooka is a freaking bargain. I had access to a Jugs and an Atec machine the past two years, and while both machines were excellent, when I looked to buy my own I was floored by the cost. Either would have set me back well over $1k. And that's before the battery option. All told I would have shelled out around $1500 for a pitching machine.
But for a touch over $600 I purchased a Zooka 740 and a dozen dimpled balls, delivered to my door. The kids call it the "Leaf Blower", but they all love it. And I've yet to run out of power even when using it for hitting practice and fly balls during a 3+ hour practice.
But the best part is its consistency. Always within 3 mph in velocity and always within a 2-3' pattern over the plate. Sometimes inside high, the next time outside low. But all still hittable balls so the kids can concentrate on seeing the ball without fear of taking one in the grill.
If you coach or your kid can't get enough baseball, this is a great investment. I know 3 other coaches in my league who have these and they have been using them for 3+ years with only one guy having to replace his battery. And the company delivered it to his door within 3 days for a very reasonable price. Get one. You won't regret it.
