"Fathers' Rights" was written by Jeffrey Leving, esq with Kenneth Dachman, Ph.d for Fathers enduring divorce, child custody or other family law issues.
I purchased it almost three years ago at the beginning of my then fiance's legal issues with his ex wife and I haven't been sorry for one moment. I
I must add that despite the title, this book is not biast and could be utilized by anyone going through this difficult time in their lives, not just fathers.
The book itself is 206 pages long and covers such things as choosing an attorney, false abuse allegations (this phenomena has hit epic proportions), interference and alienation, going to trial, parental abduction and much more.
I especially must recommend this book because it includes a complete appendix in the back that has a long list of Men's/Fathers'/Non-custodial parent organizations for each area of the United States and then some (I believe there is some for Canada as well).
This book gives great thoughts to ponder. It teaches as it offers ideas, I learned many a new thing regarding family law as I read this book. For all of humanity I hope that you don't find yourself in this spot, but if you do please seek out this book-it quite literally did wonders for us.
Reading this book replaced what once was fear and anger with knowledge and you know what they say about knowledge? That's right, knowledge IS power and believe me-it truly is. I'm the type of person that does better if I learn more about something because then it doesn't frighten or frustrate me as much and this book definately helped in that area.
If you find yourself on this path, may you have the strength and will to learn more and be the better for it.
