Pros:Has some really good producing and original songs.
Cons:Contains some filler, which makes the album too long. And the "what, what"-chanting.
The Bottom Line: The producing is really finished to the point on 90% of the songs. But the choruses and vocal performance are less catchy than they used to be.
Well, I have to admit that this album was much better than I expected after the previous " Only God Can Judge Me".
Good are: the beats, the overall producing and the several guest appearances. Although P can still rhyme like he used to (whether you like his style or not), he fails to bring back the pain, heart and soul you could hear in his voice in older albums like "Mr Ice Cream Man", "Ghetto D" and "99 Wayz to Die".
The songs of Master P just talking should have been left out ("My Three Uncles", "Problems", "The Real"). There are also enough good songs on this album so that the bad ones could have been left out to avoid filler. But it does contain filler: "It Don't Get No Better", "Roll How We Roll".
And finally the choruses: most of them suck. They throw in to many "haaaaaaa"s and "whaaaaaaat"s and I've never liked these "hey and ho"-chanting in rap songs.
"Bout Dat" has a great bass and the producing is nice. So are the lyrics, but the vocal delivery could have been way better. There are much better songs than this one on the album. Which leads to my finding characterisitic for Master P's more recent albums that his best songs never make it into singles.
"Doo Rags" (featuring Slay Sean) is a fast-paced, hyped-up south coast bouncing kinda song. But the chorus and the "whaaaaaaaat"-yelling ruins it a bit.
"'B' I Like":
"That n***a got a b***h i like
(That n***a got a b***h i like)
Whaaat, Whaaaat
Haaaaa"
Pffffffffff.
The producing sounds original and has a nice "broken beat", which is typically "south", but again the chorus works on my nerves.
"Golds In They Mouth" with C-Murder is one of the top-songs on this album. The chorus may sound a bit funny, but is still good. Furthermore an excellent producing with good vocals from P and C-Murder.
"Poppin' Them Collars" featuring Snoop Dogg will make you bounce for sure. Another "top-dog" that you must have heard.
Also very good is "I Don't Give Ah What" . It may sound a bit like Cash Money Records, but that doesn't matter because it's tight as hell (even the chorus).
The music on "Twerk That Thang" is alright, but I feel like Master P has no intention of sounding good on this song. To me he's mainly talking on this one, not rapping.
"Life I Live" is a slow laid-back song. It's another one of my favorites.
The single "Souljas" has a good beat. The chorus isn't really my style, but it's still catchy. It's one of those songs I don't really like when I hear them for the first time but start to appreciate when I've heard them several times.
"Pockets Gone' Stay Fat"? For real. Magic is at its best with his raunchy voice and very well supported by the producing. It has an outstanding well worked-out broken beat.
"My Babooski" features Tamar Braxton singing the chorus. And damn she has a beautiful voice. But P's rhyming doesn't fit what could have been a good song.
The beat is chopped up as hell and for Braxton to sing so good on this one proves her talent.
"Still Ballin'" with Krazy and Slay Sean is a real "Master P & No Limit on the ego-trip"-song. The lyrics are good and you can hear some of the emotional tone P is able to put in his voice ("we struggled and now we've made it"). According to me this "emotionful" rapping made P famous, but he just doesn't do it that much anymore. Once again the "what, what"-chorus ruins it a bit, but you get used to it after a minute.
"Soulja Boo" (f Erika Fox) is a funny song. But I still like it and you can really hear that P had fun doing this song. It's also probably the only song on the album where P's yelling makes it even sound better.
"Hush" featuring Krazy and Slay Sean again has a really good beat and Krazy rips up sh**.
"Roll How We Roll" with Afficial is so excellent to show how awful a song can sound when a broken beat isn't done properly. This should have been left out.
The purpose of "It Don't Get No Better featuring Black Felon was probably to sound like a haunting song, but P fails terribly with a terrible vocal performance. FILLER.
The original producing tries to lift it up with a nice church organ though, but the f***ed-up broken beat doesn't help.
"Always Come Back To You" uses a sample from a famous song, but I can't figure out wich one. I think it's an R'n'B song. There is good R'n'B singing in the chorus. And it's basically a song of Master P mourning over lost homies and his brother. True emotion lies in his voice making this another really good song. But sometimes his flow doesn't match the song.
