While I am a self professed first-time fan ("white pony" is the only Deftones I own), the Deftones measure up to the cut. Their most recent album "white pony" satisfies the listener (namely a new listener like myself), but longtime listeners might be disappointed. Songs like 'elite' and 'street carp' are sure to leave one feeling a little braindead or maybe even shell-shocked, but with hits like 'digital bath' and 'change (in the house of flies)' getting radio play, "white pony" is a truly decent album. 'teenager' is another favorite, alongside the classic in the making, 'pink maggit.' I would comment more on this album, but I'm not experienced enough to know whether it's worth it for the hardcore Deftones listeners. Like I've said before, this album is decent. But it's one of those albums that takes awhile to grow on you before you can listen to it on 'repeat.'
