I believe so. this one has the authentic (I think) Persian, turkish, Arabic flavored sound all over. (after this album, even Omid has been getting western influence in his music, it's easy to listen, and some songs are okey with me even in western influence, or modern style, some songs are really cool, I love them but the album like this Sarboland is still better). anyway, this album (Sarboland) starts with very Islamic flavored song, (super exotic, I say), actually this was one of few my very first persian music ever heard, so it really made me feel this was very exotic. when I first heard of this song was TV commercial for the album (only seen in the Persian music TV show in 1999, called Tanin, aired only several cities in US, I was in Los Angeles, CA then, and accidentally saw it oneday, then learned and had interests in Persian music). I heard several different songs on commercial for this album, I liked them all, everything sounded very Middle Eastern!! exact or closer image to what I could imagine about Middle East were in this album. The singer, Omid's voice is unique, and he sings super good. his serious image of character adds better impression of his music as well.
This CD comes with a booklet with lots of photos of Omid with his Persian caligraphy, I think he wrote his lylics in persian caligraphy on the booklet, very nice..., So not only musically, you'll feel something exotic visually in this album as well. The booklet was a great Bonus, I think.
I can't really say about music in writing well, but if you have a chance to listen free sample (maybe on amazon, You Tube, caltex records.com, etc..), you should try. this is one of top 10 albums of Middle Eastrn artists I choose, you won't be disappointed. (that's all I can say).
