Written: Sep 23 '01 (Updated Sep 23 '01)
Pros:great songs ~ great singer ~ great CD ~ words to all songs printed
Cons:none
The Bottom Line: Another great CD from Alan Jackson.

I love country music. Being from Nashville, TN it's hard not to be a huge fan. Alan Jackson is not only a very talented singer, but a writer as well. Many of his hits he has penned himself. On this CD you will find 5 songs that he wrote out of the 11 total. The CD was produced by Keith Stegall and came out in 2000 from BMG Entertainment.

Let me tell you about each of the songs:

Meat and Potato Man is my husband's favorite song on the CD. It is about the average everyday man that likes steak, football games, coffee black and beer ice cold. It's a man's song.

When Somebody Loves You is a song that Alan wrote. It is about when somebody loves you there is nothing that you can't do. It says how much easier it is when you have someone. It's a soft and slow song.

The Thrill is Back is about the heartache being gone and the thrill back because he got his baby's love back.

www.memory is the second song that Alan wrote on this CD. It is about someone that is fixing to be left and he knows that he is never going to hear from her again. But he will be patiently waiting for her at www.memory. Personally I think this song is silly because it isn't realistic, but it was a huge hit for Alan.

Where I Come From is the third song by Alan. It is a huge hit. It is the coolest song. I just love it! It is upbeat and peppy. It's one of those songs that everytime you hear it you blast the radio. A lot of people refer to it is as "The Cornbread and Chicken Song". The chorus goes " 'cause where I come from it's cornbread and chicken, where I come from a lotta front porch pickin', where I come from tryin' to make a livin', workin' hard to get to Heaven, where I come from".

I Still Love You is about someone who just can't get over somebody else. Everything is still the same ("the door still creaks, the roof still leaks") and his love hasn't changed either. It's a sad song.

Life or Love is about hangin' tough and not giving up on love or life.

A Love Like That is the fourth song Alan wrote on this CD. It is about meeting a special love, someone who knows everything about you, all of the little details like how you like your coffee.

It's Alright to be a Redneck is a catchy song. It's about redneck things like: riding in a dirty truck, catching fish, hunting duck, drinking beer and having a barbecue. Another song men relate to.

Maybe I Should Stay Here is about 2 people that should stay here together and not be lonely. It says they are right for each other.

Three Minute Positive Not Too Country Up-Tempo Love Song is the fifth song by Alan on the CD. Wow, what a name for a song title. This is a 3 minute song to tell his woman that he loves here and that he can't live without her. It's a peppy song.

I am always looking forward to new music from Alan Jackson. You can visit him at his website at: www.alanjackson.com
