bernadetteg's Full Review: Greatest Hits: HIStory, Vol. 1 by Michael Jackson
Let me just say this: The last time Michael Jackson released an album of completely original material, the world was thankfully treated to Kurt Cobain, et. al. It was then that the world should have realized that the self-proclaimed "King of Pop" -- who, at one time, could back up his bombast -- had lost his relevance.
Look, I'm not saying Michael Jackson doesn't have his good moments. Everyone knows that "Thriller" still holds the title of "Best Selling Album in the World." And for what it's worth, at least it's a justified title.
But this album -- "Greatest Hits: History Vol. 1" -- just isn't worth the money. It's superfluous, not to mention bombastic. Even the most die-hard Michael Jackson fan shouldn't bother.
