Pros: MP3 player, Price, front-panel input jack
Cons: forgets location within song, fails on many MP3s,
The Bottom Line: Look for something with more tolerance for dubious MP3 files.

| ervan's Full Review: Aiwa CDC-MP32 Car CD Player |
The basic MP3 player works as expected, handling the directory structure, and displaying all of the MP3 tag data on the display. Audio quality is good.
However, I have experienced several problems with mine (based on files ripped by Music Jukebox).
1) On files ripped from cassette, the aiwa often freezes completely on all CD controls except eject, which is the only way to start over, and then you have to be careful to never play the track in question. I have tried to in vain to raise this issue with tech support including sending them a CD with a sample bad file. I got a pro forma letter indicating they never even read what I wrote. All of these files play fine on "Real One" on my PC.
2) It doesn't remember where it was within a file. As I enjoy audio books, this is a major inconvenience, as it starts over at the beginning of a chapter each time I start the car. I just never thought about it when I bought the
unit. This probably doesn't matter for someone only interested in music (it does remember where within an album it is, just not within the song).
3) On files ripped from CD, it often has annoying clicks and dropouts. Skipping to the next song will work, but the song in question is lost. Again, these files all play fine on my PC. I haven't been able to collect enough data to say whether or not my ripping software is relevant.
4) The read ahead buffer is inadequate for even slightly bumpy roads.
