Pros: Low price, folding face, easy to read display
Cons: Folding face can jam, MP3s restart when car shut off, skips, can't randomize across folders
The Bottom Line: If you can afford something better, get that instead. But for those looking to save, they'll find a capable, relatively reliable player.

| nintenduc's Full Review: Aiwa CDC-MP32 Car CD Player |
For the budget-conscious consumer, the Aiwa CDC-MP32 is a great choice. The folding flap never fails to impress passengers (though its value as a theft deterrent probably isn't high). It does what you'd expect from a basic MP3 player: display ID3 tags, offer random play, ability to organize songs into albums (folders).
Those looking for more features will want to spend more money, however. You can't randomize across folders. Only songs contained within the current folder can be played randomly. Also, MP3s will restart from the beginning when you shut off your car. This is especially annoying when you just want to shut the car off but leave the accessories on to listen to music. Cutting the power for even a second will cause the MP3 to play from the beginning.
Those of you worried about a motorized face failing do have reason for concern. I've owned this unit for 7 months and the flap has jammed twice. The second time this happened, I was rather forceful with the face in my attempts to get it open, and it has never happened since (it's been 4 months). I've read reviews blaming hot weather for the jamming, but I seemed to see no correlation.
Other functions of this receiver are as basic as its MP3 playing ability. There is no equalizer; just a 3-level bass booster that no audiophile would use. I do find the remote control to be useful, unlike a lot of other reviewers. Removing it is extremely difficult, however, so I'm not sure how I'm going to replace the battery or move it to another car.
This review has a lot of complaints, but I still believe the unit is a great value. There's nothing that makes this unit really stand out other than its price. But when you have little to spend, you're more concerned with value than extra features, and I think the CDC-MP32 delivers on that front quite well.
