A dock is the device that you can sit the camera in to download your pictures onto the computer. You can also plug the camera directly into the computer which is what I do, but it uses a lot of battery and the dock doesn't.

Sounds like a great camera. I have been resisting the digital mode, but the quality seems to be getting better and better. Your review was very helpful, it's a keeper for when I start my serious camera shopping. One question, what's a dock?
