| broadway2k's Full Review: Panasonic PV-C1331W 13 inch TV/VCR Combo TV |
I bought this TV/VCR combo for my college dorm room. It has a compact screen with a very sharp picture, and the entire unit itself is so small that it fits neatly onto my dresser. The sound is also excellent for such a small TV.
The TV has buckets of features. It has a "Nite" button on the remote so that you don't strain your eyes while watching in the dark. A headphone jack is available in the front so you can watch without disturbing your roommate. It can turn off automatically after a set period of time so you can sleep. It has a timer function, just like an alarm clock. It even has a built-in FM radio!
The VCR is a breeze to program. It also can store up to four different set-ups, so if you want to, say, tape a TV show at 8-8:30 PM and then another from 9-9:30 PM, but don't have enough room on the tape to tape the whole one and a half hours, you can set up separate taping intervals for each of the two shows. This is very handy. Also, while it is recording, a fail-safe prevents you (or your roommate) from changing the channel while you are taping. (Although this is inconvenient if you want to tape one show and watch another -- it can't be done on this particular unit.) Or, if you have small kids who might disrupt the taping process, there is a VCR Lock feature.
The only complaint I have with this TV is that on the remote, trying to find buttons in the dark is impossible. The remote has bunches of teeny-tiny buttons that will probably require you to search out a particular function even if you've had the set a long time. The Volume +/- and Channel +/- buttons are very prominent, however, and of a different shape than the others so you can find them easily in the dark.
