Pros: Low Price. A good camera for children
Cons: slow shutter, low battery life, no lens cap, fuzzy peripheral focus
The Bottom Line: OK as a child's first "real camera". Not for serious users

For up close situations where picture quality is not critical, the SC-2100 is ideal. It could also be recommended as a childs "first real camera". Color reproduction is quite good.
On the down side, SIPIX does not document that the SC-2100 optics use "center weighted focus" (meaning the smeary, fuzzy quality around the picture's periphery is due to the way it's engineered). THis makes the SIPIX SC-2100 wholly unsuited for long distance outdoor shots, or pictures requiring detailed clarity.
When I contacted SIPIX customer support about the poor picture quality, they seemed in a hurry to get me off the phone and only reluctantly agreed for me to send them picture samples. I never heard back from them again.
A word of warning: this kind of customer support is indicative of companies that are struggling financially. SIPIX is fairly new - spun off from a parent corporation last year - and I would hesitate to purchase ANY of their products until it becomes clearer that they are going to survive long enough to adequately support what they sell
