| serge91088's Full Review: Rio Volt SP100 Personal CD Player |
The Rio Volt is a mp3/ wave cd player (in some models also allowing wma cd's). THe Rio delivers everything it promises, but there are some problems, also. On the pro side you are able to hold much more music per cd by making them mp3 cd's. A regular CD-R can hold approximately 700mb. While this is 80 minutes of music in the wav format, it is approximately 450 minutes in mp3 format. Do not be afraid of not bieng able to keep track of all the songs (pun not intended) because the large lcd display allows the song title to be shown if such is encoded on the cd, a feature that is done automatically by most cd writing programs. On the flipside, there are some cons. First of all the rio will not continue to play if constantly jolsted unless the 40 second ESP feature is chosen. This is all good and well, but burns battery life much faster then the 12 second ESP. 2 AA batteries last, only, approximately 3 hours. Also the Volt is quite bulky. It does feat in an average coat pocket, it's a tight fit.
