Pros: It plays mp3's and windows media, Great battery life
Cons: Skips alot, slow to respond, takes forever to load a track.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this if you plan to move it around at all while it is playing.

| nll8802's Full Review: Rio Volt SP100 Personal CD Player |
I purchased one of these so I could listen to music while walking. When I first got it I was very upset. While light walking it would skip constantly (on mp3s and audio cd's). The first thing I did to try to resolve this was reencode some mp3s at a lower bitrate (96kbs). This did help a bit but still when one track finished it would take about 30 seconds for the next one to load while walking. It did not do this if it was just sitting on a solid surface. The next thing I tried was I upgraded the firmware to the latest version. This improved the 30 sec wait to about 10 but it still skipped like mad while light walking. The only way I can get this thing to play consistantly is to sit it on a desk or table. I would not reccomend this for anyone who wants it for light exercise.
