Pros: The fact that I got my money back
Cons: It was not refurbished, and it did not focus
The Bottom Line: If you buy this camera for the Pixel count I hope you have better luck than me. I feel this camera is slapped together and not well thought out.

| i8myyoung's Full Review: Toshiba PDR-M81 Digital Camera |
I was trying many camera's before I found the one I liked the most (HP 720). I wanted to stay around the $400 or less area and when I seen the add for a refurbished 4.2 mega pixel camera for $299 I ordered it and was hoping for the best. When I got the box it had the wrong cables (it takes a special Toshiba cord I could not find at Radio Shack). It had the wrong booklets and the wrong software. I was mad but planned on calling Toshiba for the right stuff. I took the camera out after cleaning the lens that looked like someone who ate fried chicken touched, and started taking pictures. Even in the little screen on the back the pictures looked out of focus. Colors were true but pictures were soft. I shut the camera down and went to another location. I went to look at what I had already shot and the pictures were all distorted, some were combined with other pictures. I could not believe that Toshiba let this camera get out the door like this. I wanted to show my wife how lousy the camera was when I got home and it would not turn on again. I returned it and stuck with my HP 720. I would have liked to try its 3 minute video with sound but never got to do that.
Construction seemed OK but the lens cap was a very cheap hard plastic one that was attached with nothing more than a little string. The jacks for the cables looked rough around the edges liked they were wedged in. If I had seen this camera in the store, I would not have bought it just for construction alone.
I would just like to say that I read a few reviews and found that this camera was sent back a few times for the same problems I had. Most of them had bought them before they were refurbished though. I went to a web site called Steves-Digicams and he had sample pictures of this camera and they looked soft on focus as well. I think Toshiba needs to fire a few people in the Refurb. department.
