This is a shirt that will be of great joy to Milan fans, as it was the shirt they wore in their European Cup triumph at Old Trafford in 2002/03.
I was never really all the big a fan of Milan, but when he played in Scotland, I met current Milan star Gennaro Gattuso, and he was a top guy, so I really own the shirt out of respect to him.
The shirt is quite unusual, in that the front of it has two layers of material. The shirt, on a whole, is like a T-shirt, the front is red, and the sleeves black and the back of it Black and Red horizontal stripes. The front of the shirt has a layer of Red and Black horizontal striped mesh stitched on. Printed on this in the thick material that football shirt sponsors are usually printed with is the club sponsor, Opel, and its logo. stitched on are the adidas three stripe logo on the right chest area and the AC Milan badge on the right, with one gold star to represent 10 Italian Serie A titles stitched above it.
The sleeves have three red stripes stiched down each one, but the stripes stop about halfway down the sleeve.
The shirt is made of 100% Polyester, which despite it's reputation for being rubbish at sweat absobance works quite well. I recall owning an Adidas Milan shirt in 1999 (it had a centenary badge stitched on the sleeve) and finding it impossible to play in because it was too heavy and made me sweat horribly. I have no such complaints with this shirt though.
The shirt has proven to be well made, with no complaints about its stitching, even after a year of washing and being played in.
I don't really have any complaints about the shirt at all, I would recommend it to any Milan fan or fan of the sport of football. Having the extra layer on the front actually gives the shirt a really cool look and makes it stand out from the 1000s of shirts out there.
