So much more!   
     I purchased this laptop before my freshman year in college, and is easily the best purchase I have made for my education.  I am able to quickly type up my notes, easily write papers, but all computers do that.  Yet Mac stands out in a different way.  
Layout and Design
     Macs are ridiculously easy to use!  I was never too great at using computers but the learning curve was quick with the mac.  It has a very simplistic and functional layout to quickly navigate through all the screens in a matter of seconds.  
Music
    Another reason why I purchased a mac was to store my music, and also have a great way to organize and enjoy my collection of over 10,000 songs.  The sound out of the speakers is beautiful and I can listen to music the way it the artists intended it to sound.  And if there happens to be something wrong with a track, lets say that it is too quiet, I can go to options and fix the sound of the track.  Simple as that!  There are so many things that I could go on about involving the capabilities of the mac but the bottom line is that it is easy and fun to listen to your music!
Function
     The 15.4 inch Notebook has many different things that put this laptop over the top.  A few of them are the lit up keyboard for typing in the dark, a long lasting battery, a scrolling pad that has some tricks up its sleeve, and not to mention the great looks of the aluminum shell.  It easily fits in an average size backpack, and my laptop has had plenty of wear and tear but still looks wonderful.  This is perfect for anybody who is constantly on the go and somebody who doesn't always want to worry about a laptop getting damaged.
Where did I get it?
     I personally got this product from my local apple store, and I highly recommend doing the same.  Apple not only supplies the notebook, but they also offer the Genius service where they help take care of any problems you could ever have with their product.  All you have to do is make an appointment! Another reason why I would recommend Apple is because I got a free wireless printer out of it! So if you are looking for a printer this could also be an option, I'm not sure if they still offer this but it is definitely worth a shot.
