| dback01's Full Review: 2000 Holiday Rambler Vacationer |
We bought our Vacationer because we liked the general layout and it suited our budget. The coach was about 4 years old when we bought it. On our first long vacation we discovered a leak that manifested itself at the passenger floor where the side wall meets the carpet. After spending $2000.00 on sealing the roof and its various components, our next long vacation a year leader revealed that it still leaked and in the same place. The people who did the roof have been very good about it and have searched extensively since, to find the location of the leak. I have spent considerable time myself caulking and replacing seals with no results. We have since found that the techy who worked on my coach has another Monaco coach with a leak in exactly the same spot. We have come down to the theory that many of the rivet heads that join the body to the frame have deteriorated and fallen off thus allowing a leak path from the top of the MH to the floor. We are in the process of having all of these repaired and we think we are on to something. I hope so, because this has been a major aggravations. Otherwise we would enjoy a coach that we have grown to love very much. Consider this if you are buying a used Vacationer or other Monaco product.
