I do not own a Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel Pickup, in fact, I only know one person who does. His name is Carroll and he owns four of them. And I have never met someone so dedicated to any one particular model of a car as he is. He is trying to get me to buy one of his just because I think it would make him feel like we had some weird type of auto owners club going or something.
What is neat is that I never knew that VW had made a truck before at all, especially that ran on diesel fuel. Which with current unleaded prices, diesel can't be beat. Carroll says he gets 400 miles to his pickup's tiny little gas tank. Hell, my Honda don't even get that kind of gas mileage.
I am dating a girl with a 1974 Karmen Ghia {a glorified go-cart, really}. And since a recent car accident, I've been looking around for something reliable. We've even joked about having his and hers Volkswagens. She gets the hot little race car and I get the slow, sluggish diesel truck. For its price range, the Rabbit Pickup is looking better each day, even if it is weird seeing a truck with VOLKSWAGEN on the back of it pull by.
