1985 was the first year for the L98 motor and marked a return of fuel injection to the Corvette. It was the second year for the C4 and had some needed improvements over the 84 model year. Softer springs give a better ride without taking away the sporty feel. Mine has the Z51 option and rides like it is on rails.

This car is FAST. Well fast for its age. My stock 85 will run 14.5 in the quarter mile all day. Red light to red light it is faster than most cars and will pin you in your seat. Top speed was rated at 150 MPH but I never took mine over 135. Fast enough to get you put in jail.

The weather stripping is expensive and prone to rot. You can count on $700 for a full set. The cars body is fiberglass but the frame is not so check for rust. If you are in the market for a used Vette decide what you want and get some parts books so you will have an idea what it will cost to make your purchase perfect.

Corvette people are the best and you will have a lot of fun going to shows and will never want for help or advice if you join a club.
