Pros: Just about everything..gas mileage, fun to drive, reliable, easy to fix
Cons: Rust easily, air shocks ( if equipped) are a nightmare, rough growly engine
These things are quite something, they look like a cross between a Honda Prelude and a Pulsar NX. Excellent handling, reasonable power ( turbo model),comfortable and very space age. Subaru makes tough 'boxer' motors which unfortunately aren't smooth and 'growwwlll' ! (Doesn't really suit the ultra weird slick design to be found everywhere else.) XT's are very dependable and very easy cars to work on when needed! Parts are cheap and found everywhere since they share just about everything mechanical with their GL and Loyale series cars. One thing to avoid like the plague though, the 4wd Turbo version has an air-suspension system that is failure prone and horribly expensive to replace ($400 US PER WHEEL!)Don't ever buy one of these unless they've been converted to ordinary coil-over shocks...something most owners including me have already done. These cars are rare but if you're looking for a cheap fun to drive car that doesn't look like everything else, then you might really like an XT! Lastly, it's rumoured these are becoming collectors items!
