This car caused me nothing but grief! I bought it for $800, took it to the shop 14 times in as many weeks, then sold it for $50 just to get rid of the headaches!
I bought my Datona from a local garage. Presumably, the car should be in decent running order since I bought it from a mechanic. It seemed fine at first, but I brought it back 3 days later because the turn signals had a short and did not always work.
Less than a week later, I had to call the wrecker because it left me stranded at work. I got a new fuel pump put in that time. The next week I had to replace the starter, and the following week it was the fly wheel. Both times I was left stranded and needed to call a wrecker.
The 4th wrecker call I made was to replace the computer which had burned out and shorted several other things along with it. A bad sensor caused me another trip into the shop, as did a problem with my headlights, and a few other minor problems.
My Daytona was a 4 cylinder and got approximately 20 mpg when it ran. It seated 4 people comfortably, although you could squeeze a 5th person into the back if you needed to. It was a nice looking car, and I liked the hatchback, but I will never buy one again!
