Pros: It's a classic design with solid performance.
Cons: It's a shame Mazda didn't continue the tradition when it continued to use the name.

My black RX7 convertible is coming up on it's 18th birthday (I purchased it Dec. 3, 1988), and it has just rolled over 175,000 miles. While one has to expect a few bumps along the way with that many miles, I've been very pleased with the car. I get good mileage--26-27 mpg on the road (just checked on a cross-country trip) and 17-18 mpg in town the last time I checked (years ago). It's a beautiful car. I've given it top dealer-provided service and tried to keep it looking as good as new. The worst problem: at about 150,000 miles, I blew the engine, hobbled back home and had it rebuilt. The engine failure was caused by the failure of a computer board that governed the firing.
