Pros: high miles, smooth ride, comfortable
Cons: bad electrical systems
We were the third owners of this car, and bought it last year with 140,000 miles on it for $2000. It died this week at 169,000 miles.
As the car started to go out, problems were mostly of the electrical variety. The air conditioner would only work when turned to high and the electric locks stopped working. The light went out and the headliner fell off. But what do you want for a car with that many miles on it? ;)
The ride was smooth, though it was a bit of a gas guzzler, about 15 miles per gallon city. It survived a side impact with dents but no injuries. It cruises easy at even 80 miles per hour without losing a feeling of control, and it is easy to think you are going slower than you really are.
About 10,000 miles ago a clunking sound started that we could never really identify. This caused looks on the road but didn't seem to effect the drive.
The paint was pretty much a mess on this, seemed to have gone fast on the top of the car, but was still original paint job, 10 years old.
We are not sure what caused the death of this car, but believe the transmission went out. It was time for a new one anyway, and we got a cheap ride when we needed one.
