I had thought that it was my common bad luck in life, but from reading the other reviews I see there are others in the same boat. I love my car. I do. It is my only link to the outside world. But I have pumped so much money into it. I paid $3500 Canadian for it last fall. Since then I have easily spent more than that in repairs. They have been routine apparently since it is a 12 year old car. It has also started and got me where I wanted to go. But it likes to spit out things. First it was gas. One month after I got the car, the fuel lines on the back left corner of the car went. I got that fixed, but in removing the lines the brake lines came off too. 2 months later the other rear corner of brake and fuel lines began to spew fuel all over the ground. But only when I was idleing. Then the fuel sender went and a hole the size of a baseball was found on the top of the gas tank. 4 months later surprise surprise! In a routine drop off for a brake pad change it was noticed that the brakes, pads, rotors and berings all needed repair. This fall I just replaced the muffler and I have to now replace the catalytic converter. I know these are all usually replaced items, but come on, was the car parked on a pile of salt? The entire thing appears to be rusted out on the bottom. The upside I guess is that I still have air conditioning. I still love the car. I have one year left of payments. And I think I am so emotionally and financially attached I won't let it go. The only reason I bought the car is that my family thought it would be cheaper than fixing the transmission on our 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88. At least I can parallel park this car. : ) The car has guts. And lots of gauges. Only the oil pressure gauge had to be replaced. Which cost me $100. Grrrr. I love my car. I have to say it. I do. If you have a mechanic in the family it would be a great car! It's a great car. V6 and a smooth ride even thoughI still need new shocks. Maybe my mechanic is just paranoid?
